Ex: “Walmart has been the most beneficial establishment in America in the past thirty years.”

Support

There needs to be significant support for every point. Remember: your opinion is an opinion - NOT support. You need support to back up your opinion (literally to support your opinion).

Support will come in the form of:
Quotes from scholarly sources
Quotes from interviews
Facts, figures, and statistics
Personal stories

Topic Sentences

The first sentence of each paragraph should sum up what the entire paragraph will be about.

There should not be any sentences in the paragraph that do not relate to the topic sentence. All sentences in each paragraph need to relate to the topic sentence.

Walmart has benefited Americans because it saves people money.
-statistic about amount of money saved
-quote about saving money
-information about recession, debt, etc.
In addition to saving people money, Walmart has also provided Americans with thousands of new jobs.
-unemployement rate
-number of jobs provided by Walmart
-scholarly quote or quote from interview

Remember you also need:

A quote from one of the two readings
A minimum of three additional quotes
A personal experience at Walmart (if you have never been to Walmart, you can interview someone about their experience at Walmart).
A properly formatted works cited page (see KnightCite.com)
Proper MLA citations and MLA format (size 12, double spaced, TNR, 1 inch margins, no space between paragraphs)
4 full pages minimum

Echeveria Lola

2016 Echeveria 'Lola', possibly a hybrid of Echeveria lilacina, forms a sculpted rosette with a somewhat "rosebud" shape. My father and my mother were both born and grew up in Hue, a small town in the middle of Vietnam. Hue is a small town but they did not meet there until they were both in Saigon, some years later, where my father had come to study law and mom was deep into the study of philosophy. At that time they didn't have much chance of a courtship as students, but they became friends. Life moved forward and they both went their separate ways only to meet again in Quảng Tín, a small town near Hội An in the middle of VN. By that time, my father was a government official and my mother was teaching high school. They became reacquainted and as it happened, they fell in love.
