Echeveria Lola

2016 Echeveria 'Lola', possibly a hybrid of Echeveria lilacina, forms a sculpted rosette with a somewhat "rosebud" shape. Leaves are alabaster marble with a delicate blush of pinkish violet and tipped with rose. Rosette gives the impression of alabaster wax suffused with violet. Flowers are peach, bell-shaped and appear in spring.  2019 In habitat, many Echeverias grow on rocky outcroppings at higher altitudes. In this habitat, the water drains quickly away from the roots of the plant, never allowing the plant to remain waterlogged. For this reason, it is essential in cultivation to use a very porous soil, which will allow quick drainage. Sempervivum Green Apple

Fascinating varying colors of rosettes sporting rose centers that spreads to the tips of the plants at different seasons of the year and stages of growth.  These lovely varietal "Hens and Chicks" grow in a clustering habit and are excellent in strawberry pots and in ornamental gardens.  They also provide great ground cover. Sempervivum Green Apple grow their  best  when they are planted outside with lots of sun, soil that drains well, not too much water and a cold dormant period. With these outdoor conditions they will grow large, produce offsets and display bright colors (for colorful varieties). Growing Sempervivum Indoor Succulents are cool plants and people want to use them like an art medium, planting them upside-down, in glass, indoors, etc. This is one of my favorite things about hens and chicks; you can get creative with them.
